Emergency crews responded to the scene as police and fire crews investigated the crash. Simmons Street was temporarily closed in both directions between Carey and Evans avenues.

The 1,156-meter-high Ebeko volcano is located on Russia's Kuril Island of Paramushir. Regular emissions, ranging from weak to moderate, have been ongoing since Oct. 20, 2016, which are considered normal for the volcano.
